Death Notice

GOOD, James Reynolds (Jim) of London passed away peacefully at University Hospital on Saturday, July 2, 2011 in his 90th year. Born in London June 3, 1922, son of James David and Ethel Mae Good, he attended St. George's Public School, London Central Collegiate and is an Old Boy of St. Andrew's College, Aurora ON. During the Second World War, Jim was a Radar Specialist in the Royal Canadian Navy Volunteer Reserve (RCNVR) based in Halifax NS and served in the North Atlantic. He was a devoted member of the congregation of The Church of St. John the Evangelist, Forest City Kiwanis Club, a Past President of Victorian Order of Nurses and The London Horsemanship Club. An avid sportsman, he enjoyed football, cricket, horseback riding, boating, and car rallying with the Western Ontario Sports Car Association. Jim is survived by Catherine Margaret Anne (Cay) beloved wife of 63 years, son James David and wife Adele Susan, Ann Arbor, Michigan, son William Hamilton, daughter Barbara Jane Good-Owens and John Stephen Owens all of London. Jim was the dearly loved grandfather of Julia Paige Wylie Good of Beaufort, South Carolina. Predeceased by his sister Norma Winifred, daughter Catherine Anne and son-in-law Thomas Sherlock Hodgson. Funeral services, conducted by The Reverend Canon Donald Ford, will be held at The Church of St. John The Evangelist, 280 St. James St. London, ON, at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 12, 2011. A Bon Voyage reception for family and friends will follow from 12 - 2:30 PM at "Goodholme" now Dante Lenardon Hall, King's College, 291 Epworth Avenue, London. In keeping with his wishes, there will be no public visitation. A private interment will take place at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery at a later date. The James A. Harris Funeral Home, 220 St. James Street, London is entrusted with arrangements.
