Miss Bere was my French teacher for two years at Sir Adam Beck C.I. in the late 60's. I loved her class, learned to appreciate the French language and will always remember Miss Bere as a great teacher, a fine lady and a big part of my wonderful memories as a student at Beck. Merci.

Miss Dorothy Bere inspired me early on in Grade 9 at Sir Adam Beck Collegiate in 1959. I subsequently became a "francophile", became bi-lingual, taught Social Anthropology "en francais" while at Lester B Pearson College near Victoria. I married a "Valois" from Quebec City and now live in happy retirement on Isle-aux-Coudres in Charlevoix region n/e of Quebec City. We live our lives using "La Belle Langue"
In May of 2010, I visited Dorothy at Mt Hope. I'm certain she had no meaningful memory of me being in her class so long ago, BUT we chatted (mostly one-sidely) in French with Dorothy giving brief acknowledgements in the same tongue...which amazed the nearby staff. Seems they had no idea she spoke French.
"Au revoir" Ms Dorothy Bere.
Brad Myers, I also became a French teacher, at one point from 1990- 2007.
