Emma Hale

Death Notice

Hale, Emma B. - Peacefully at University Hospital, London, on Wednesday, March 21, 2012. Emma was born on June 13, 1915 in Jamison, Pennsylvania, one of eight children. Predeceased by her husband Paul, survived by her daughters Judy White (Ian Wallace), Helen Tomasik (Joe) and Mary Lougheed (Stephen). Loved by grandchildren, Kirsten (Darcy), Paul (Meghan), Lauren, Kathleen, Meredith and great-granddaughter, Brydie. Dear sister of Edith Ward. Emma was a dietitian and graduate of Penn State. She was known as a great cook, avid gardener, sports enthusiast, and gave generously of her time to her church and community. She loved family celebrations, hosting dinners, playing bridge, and caring for her golden retrievers. A memorial service will be conducted at the James A. Harris Funeral Home, 220 St. James St. at Richmond, London, on Saturday, April 14 at 2:00 p.m. by Rev. Marybeth Wilson. Visitation will precede the service from 1:00-2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
