Bateman, Joelene - Peacefully at her residence on Monday, April 16, 2012, Joelene Ada Bateman, nee McLeish, of Birr in her 83rd year. Beloved wife for 51 years of George. Loving mother of Kevin of Toronto and Kara Guild (Jeff) of Waterloo. Dear sister of I. Stewart McLeish (Heather), and the late Donald McLeish. Dear aunt of Sandra Ross, Terry, Rick and Robin McLeish. Joelene taught with the London Board of Education for many years. Visitation on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the James A. Harris Funeral Home, 220 St. James St. at Richmond, where the funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, April 19 at 11:00 am Interment Kintore Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society would be gratefully acknowledged.

I was so sorry to hear of the passing of Joelene. I had only known her for a few years, but I will never forget her kindness and welcoming spirit.

I am so saddened by the passing of one of the most wonderful ladies I have ever met. She was a teacher at Boyle Memorial, and such a help to me when I began my teaching career, I never heard her speak a cross word. The world has lost an angel, but God has gained one.
