Verna Mustard

Death Notice

Mustard, Verna - Peacefully at McGarrell Place Nursing Home, Verna Mustard passed away on Satuday, April 28th, 2012 at the age of 74. Loving mother of Kim Crich (Ken), Tracey Thompson (Paul) and Michael Mustard (Kellee), cherished grandmother of Alexandra and Nicola Crich, Bradley Thompson, Zackary Thompson, Ashley Lumley (Jarrett) and Jaycee Mustard, great-grandmother of Blake Thompson and Trinity Lumley, beloved sister of Mildred Ruscher and the late Betty Kaufmann. Predeceased by her parents Vern and Loraine Hickmott and her former late husband Robert (Bob) Mustard. Survived by many nieces and nephews and cousins. Verna was born and raised in Kingsville, Ontario. As a registered nurse training at Hotel Dieu in Windsor, she worked in Detroit, California, Windsor and London, Ontario. She finished her career at Family and Children Services in London where she worked for 30 years before retiring. Verna loved ice hockey and for many years boarded players from her favourite team, the London Knights. She enjoyed taking her grandchildren to watch the Knights at the old London Gardens, many a night would see her sitting in her season ticket seat with a grandchild on her knee! Verna enjoyed traveling to Harrow (Cabota Park) near Kingsville, where she summered with her 2 sisters at the "trailer". Visitation on Wednesday from 7-9 pm at the James A. Harris Funeral Home, 220 St. James St. at Richmond, where a memorial service will be conducted on Thursday, May 3 at 11:00 a.m. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to the Alzheimer Society.
