Sumner, Jack - Peacefully at University Hospital on Tuesday, May 15, 2012, John H. (Jack) Sumner of London, after celebrating his 90th birthday on April 29. Beloved husband of Helena (Kenda). Loving father of Ann and her husband Rob Johnson of Melbourne and Mary Marron of Florida. Dear Papa of Sarah Johnson, Christopher Marron and his wife Sara, and Kate and her husband Jared Davis and great-grandfather of Emma and Bentley. Dear brother of Barbara Dunbar of Listowel and Carol and her husband John Morling of Tillsonburg. Brother-in-law of Joe Kenda and his wife Marilyn. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Charles and Merle Sumner and his first wife Virginia. Jack was the third generation jeweller at C.R. Sumner and Sons Ltd. He was a WWII veteran, active Shriner and Kiwanian and long-time member of St. John the Evangelist Church. He enjoyed curling, fishing and was a Senator at Sunningdale Golf and Country Club. Visitation on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the James A. Harris Funeral Home, 220 St. James St. at Richmond. The funeral service will be conducted at St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, 280 St. James St. at Wellington on Saturday, May 19 at 11:00 am. Interment Woodland Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the Shriner Children's Hospital or charity of your choice would be gratefully acknowledged.
