Henning, William (Bill) Frederick-Peacefully at University Hospital, London on Tuesday, June 19th, 2012, in his 88th year. He is survived by his loving wife Phyllis, sons Graham (Colleen) and Mark (Eva), grandchildren Nicole, Sarah, Nathan and Graham and great granddaughter Mia Rose. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him including his many neighbours. Born in Portsmouth, UK, in 1925, he served in the Royal Navy with the Fleet Air Arm during WWII rising to the rank of Petty Officer. After the war he joined in the Merchant Navy working on many ships including RMS Queen Mary and RMS Elizabeth. In 1965 he emigrated with his family from the UK to Canada and worked as a stationary engineer at Polysar Corp. in Sarnia until retirement in 1987. After retirement, he and Phyllis shared many great adventures in their nomadic life traveling all over North America for several years. Friends and relatives will be received at Harris Funeral Home, 220 St. James St. (at Richmond) on Thursday, June 21st at 11:00 am for a celebration of his life. In lieu of flowers, donations to the London Food bank would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks to the doctors and nursing staff at University Hospital who supported and made him and his family comfortable during his last journey.
