Blackwell, Victor J. - peacefully at Victoria Hospital on Monday, June 18, 2012 in his 91st year. Survived by his cherished friend and wife Betty, with whom he celebrated almost 40 years of marriage. Predeceased by his son, Robert, the mother of his children, Barbara, and by his sister, Helena. Survived by his children Alec (Margo), Frederick (Kim), Genevieve, Douglas (Christina), Richard and step-children Patricia (Scott), Ramsay (Sylvia) and Paula (Leigh). Lovingly remembered by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Victor served with the RCAF in Europe during WWII. He was President of Superior Concrete Block Ltd for 10 years. Active in the community, he was a member of the Kiwanis Club of London for over 50 years, and a long time member of the London Hunt and Country Club and London Club. He was a founding member of the Trans-Erie Sailing Club. He was also an avid traveller and nature enthusiast. Victor will be remembered for his sense of humour - he always had a joke for everyone. A memorial service will be conducted at the James A. Harris Funeral Home, 220 St. James St. at Richmond, on Tuesday, June 26 at 11:30 a.m., with visitation preceding from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the charity of your choice would be gratefully acknowledged.
