PEARCE, Eleanor - Peacefully with family at her side at University Hospital on Saturday, July, 14, 2012, Eleanor Esther Pearce of London, formerly of Toronto and Montreal. Loved mother of William Ronald Pearce and his wife Patricia. Loving grandmother of Trevor, Daniel and Heather and great grandmother to Adrian. Predeceased by her brother William Dale Blackwell and survived by her sister-in-law Ruth. Predeceased by her parents William and Kathleen Blackwell late of Port Stanley. Former teacher at Clarke Road Secondary School and Fanshawe College. Visitation on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. at the James A. Harris Funeral Home, 220 St. James St. at Richmond. The memorial service will be conducted at St. Paul's Cathedral, 472 Richmond St. at Queens Ave. on Thursday, July 19 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation followed by interment at Union Cemetery, Elgin County. Memorial Contributions to the London Humane Society, Ontario Humane Society or World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA) would be gratefully acknowledged.

I met Eleanor while walking my dog at St Peter's Seminary some years ago. Eleanor also had her dog. There was a connection of spirit..and the common bond of a great love for animals. I visited her home a couple of times and met her son and granddaughter. I gave Eleanor my dog stories, 'Memoires of a Spotted Mutt' and I believe I also gave her 'Samantha's Angel' in memory of my daughter.' I am now an Anglican priest living in Newfoundland. I wrote to E. once, I think and I have a lovely watercolor card from her. My connection with her was brief, but had a profound impact on me. There was such a sweetness about her...such a beautiful spirit. Just wanted to share this with you. God bless

does nothing difelrfntey if you notify them you are staying late.Dave was my friend, and his loss has hit our circle really hard because he was the best of the best: loving of his family and friends, the guy who always brought quick wit to the table, and remembered to keep things fun especially in some really tough situations. But he was VERY private--maybe to his detriment, I am still struggling with that piece.The above comments are valid, and I agree with Jay's point, ESPECIALLY in light of Dave being in the IT department (no small irony there). USM may "look into it" but in reality, things will not change unless his family decides to make a high-profile lawsuit out of it, or the gods forbid, this happens again.
