Smith, James W.- Suddenly at Jackson's Cove, Northern Bruce Peninsula on October 1, 2012, James Wilfrid Smith passed away at the age of 77. Beloved husband of over 52 years to Margaret (nee Hudson). Proud and devoted father of Bruce (Heather) and Greg (Cathy). Loving and loved grandfather to Megan and Kaitlin Smith. Dear brother to Marlene (Jim Clark), brother-in-law to Linda (David Peeling), Rhonda McLay (Wallace), John Hudson (Eleanor), Donald Hudson (Kay). Also, remembered by sister-in-law, Nancy Hudson, many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by his parents Alex and Isabell Smith (nee Lamond) and brother, Alwyne Smith. Father-in-law and mother-in-law, Herbert Hudson and Shirley (nee Turner). Jim served Siloam United Church as Treasurer and as a faithful member. In July 2000, Jim retired after many years of employment with Supertest, BP and GM Diesel. Jim was a recent recipient of his 50 year pin from Middlesex Lodge No. 379 and also a member of the London Lodge of Perfection. Visitation on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. and Thursday from 2-4 p.m. at the James A. Harris Funeral Home, 220 St. James Street at Richmond. The funeral service will be conducted at Siloam United Church, 1240 Fanshawe Park Road East at McLean on Friday, October 5 at 11:00 a.m. by Rev. Sheila Macgregor. Interment St. John's Cemetery, Arva. A Masonic Memorial Service under the auspices of Middlesex Lodge No. 379, A.F. & A.M. will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday at 6:45 p.m. Sympathies may be expressed through donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Siloam United Church Memorial Fund.
