Robert Foster

Death Notice

Foster, Robert (Bob) Jack On Sunday January 20th, 2013 joined his beloved Eileen. A wonderful father to Bob (Maren), Brenda and Brian. Proud Papa to Elyse(Eric), Kiersten, Jason, Nicole and Kelly. Dear friend to Marie and the LeBlanc family. He will be dearly missed by family and friends. Bob had a rich and varied life. Born in 1932, he grew up in Wortley Village where so many of his stories began. At a young age he picked up the trumpet which he played professionally for many years. In his teens he toured Ontario with his brother Tom's band and in his twenties he played many nights at Wonderland Gardens and 401 Plaza with the likes of Johnny Brennan. After high school he joined the team at Goodyear Tire eventually leaving them to start a new partnership in 1977 Ennett-Foster Tire. After many successful years in business, Bob retired at the young age of 57. He and Eileen travelled to many places in the world always bringing back great stories from their adventures. They spent many winters in Florida where Bob picked up the trumpet again. When Eileen took sick Bob became her tireless caregiver. He loved to read, enjoyed his sports, the activities of his children and grandchildren, his daily crossword and having a good laugh. A private family service and burial will take place on Wednesday. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Bob's life on Friday January 25th at 11:00 am at St Jude's Anglican Church, 1537 Adelaide Street North, London. The family would like to thank all the health care professionals for their compassionate care over the years.
