Janet Hoare

Death Notice

HOARE, Janet - On June 1, 2013, Janet Leitch Hoare (nee Macdonald) in her 95th year. Janet was predeceased by her loving husband, Charles S. Hoare, in April 1976. Forever loved by her three children: Don Hoare, Ian Hoare (Lynn) and Rhea Hoare (Stephen Lautens). She was a loving grandmother to her three grandsons, Colin and Graham Hoare and James (Jamie) Lautens. Also lovingly remembered by her sister-in-law, Mary Nelles, her nephew, Brooke Nelles and her niece, Dr. Ruth Nelles Fink and family. She will be missed by her dear friend, Cathy Mallory. Janet was born in Ailsa Craig, Ontario to John Macdonald and Jeanetta Jane Leitch. Her family were proud descendants of Highland pioneers. She was predeceased by her dear siblings: Norman, John (Jackie) and Mary and her brother-in-law, Donald James Miller. The family wishes to thank the caring staff at McGarrell Place for their many kindnesses to Janet in her final years. Janet devoted her life to caring for the mentally and emotionally challenged as a Registered Nurse, specializing in psychiatry. She was a loving family woman, a deeply faithful Presbyterian and a fighter for those needing help. Her courage and grace are her inspiring legacy to all her loved ones. Visitation on Tuesday from 7-9 pm at the James A. Harris Funeral Home, 220 St. James St. at Richmond. The funeral service will be conducted at New St. James Presbyterian Church, 280 Oxford St. E. at Wellington on Wednesday, June 5 at 1:00 p.m. Interment Carlisle Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the Canadian Mental Health Association would be gratefully acknowledged.
