Death Notice

HICKS, Norma- Peacefully at University Hospital on Sunday, July 28, 2013, Norma Marie Hicks (Wade) of London in her 79th year. Beloved wife of the late William Hicks (1989); loving mother of Elaine; dear sister of Dorothy Franklin; fondly remembered by her niece Leslie Tanzi. Norma was a longtime Elder of New St. James Presbyterian Church and spent many years as the head of Christian Education and Pastoral Care. Often referred to as the "unofficial ambassador" of the church who ensured everyone felt welcomed. She was the "instigator" of many good times, especially involving the Highland Girls and weekends at Crieff. Her smile and sense of humour will be missed by all. In honor of Norma's life, the family wishes for you to find a way to brighten yours and someone else's day. Visitation on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the James A. Harris Funeral Home, 220 St. James St. at Richmond. The funeral service will be conducted at New St. James Presbyterian Church, 280 Oxford St. at Wellington on Wednesday, July 31 at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery to follow. Memorial contributions to the Canadian Mental Health Association or the Canadian Cancer Society would be gratefully acknowledged.
