MUCHAN, William John - In the early hours of August 5th, 2013 at University Hospital in London Bill passed away peacefully at age 64, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his loving companion, Susan Osmond; children, Elizabeth, Sam, and Liam; grandchildren, Cameron, Gavin, and Aidan; parents, Bill Sr. and Audrey; sisters and brothers, Ruth Owen, Mary Wilson, Jennifer Camman, Keith (Irene) and Bruce; and nieces and nephews. After moving from Ancaster to London Bill attended Oakridge and then Regina Mundi, later enrolling in the Fine Arts programme at Fanshawe College. The years spent working for his father at Canada Apothecary prepared Bill for establishing his own company, Wiler Fine Chemicals, an affiliation with Professional Compounding Centers of America. Bill's passions in life were many: photography, music, billiards, walking sticks, growing things, the Bruce Peninsula, and a wealth of deep and lasting friendships he created along the way. The family would like to express their gratitude for these friendships, for the staff at Windermere on the Mount, and the countless, dedicated medical professionals involved in Bill's care. The final days in the ICU at UH were a journey unto itself. Visitation on Friday from 7-9 pm and Saturday from 1:30 to 2:30 pm at the James A. Harris Funeral Home, 220 St. James St. at Richmond, where a Celebration of Bill's Life will be conducted at 2:30 pm on Saturday, August 10. Cremation followed by a private interment later. Memorial contributions to the Bruce Trail Conservancy, Aeolian Hall El Sistema, or a charity of your choice would be gratefully acknowledged.
