The family will receive friends at the James A. Harris Funeral Home, 220 St. James Street at Richmond, London on Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

Service

A funeral service will be held at Faith Lutheran Church, 310 Southdale Road East, on Wednesday, October 23 at 10:30 a.m.

Carol Schmitt

Death Notice

The family of Carol Elaine Schmitt announces that the Lord called her to be with him in heaven on Friday, October 18, 2013 at the age of 63. Carol was afflicted with ALS and died peacefully at home which was her wish. Carol will be greatly missed by her husband Alan, her three children, Tim (Laura), Jill (John) and Heather (Mike) and her three grandchildren Pearl, Marcus and Rosemary "Rosie". She will also be sadly missed by her brothers, Ed and Ron and sister, Brenda. Carol was predeceased by her father and mother, Bill and Marie Fyfe and her brother, Bill Jr. Carol was well aware of the sacrifice her Lord and Saviour had made for her on the cross. Therefore, in gratitude for what he had done for her, she gladly served the church as a Sunday School teacher and superintendent, choir member, President of her church's Lutheran Women's Missionary League society, church secretary, Parish Assistant, member of the Altar Guild and cross Canada presenter for Living the Mission. When Carol's children were young she was a stay at home mom but after they grew up she worked for Community Homes Limited. Carol was the Office Co-ordinator and loved her work and had great affection for the people with whom she worked. Carol had many friends whom she cherished very much and prayed for faithfully.
