Petrauskas, Gražina Teresa- at University Hospital on Tuesday, November 26, 2013, Gražina Petrauskas, nee Narakas of London in her 80th year. Wife of Edmundas. Mother of Kristina Brewer of London and Evelina Petrauskas-Harris and her husband Harold Harris of Toronto. Grandmother of Michael, Anthony, and Emily Brewer and Julia Harris. Sister of Regina Gudelis and her husband David of Sarnia. Fondly remembered by her cousins, nieces and nephews. As a W. War II D.P. - displaced person at 13 - she first heard English in 1947. After a hiatus of 4 years with no UWO graduates qualifying for the Gold Medal award in Honours English and Latin, in 1956 on graduation, that was her earned award. After obtaining the Hon. BA, Gražina earned MA and taught for over 2 decades at Medway H.S. in Arva, Ont. earning respect from both teachers and students. She was very active in Lithuanian Canadian community activities, singing, MC and with National Council in Canada duties, mastering public speaking in two languages with extreme facility. A person of beauty both in and out to all around her. Visitation on Sunday from 1-3 and 7-9 pm at the James A. Harris Funeral Home, 220 St. James St. at Richmond. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Peter's Cathedral Basilica, 196 Dufferin Ave. at Richmond, London, Ont. on Monday, December 2 at 10:00 a.m. Interment St. Peter's Cemetery. Memorial contributions to St. Peter's Basilica Restoration Fund or charity of your choice would be gratefully acknowledged.
