Joe Davidson

Death Notice

John Angus "Joe" Davidson of Montreal, passed away peacefully at McCormick Home on February 3rd, 2014 at age 82. Joe was the beloved father of Dale Taylor, Lisa Metcalfe and Michael Davidson, father-in-law to Keith, Chris and YJ, grandfather to Michael, Steve, Amanda, Cameron, Scott, Ava, Noah and Samuel and younger brother to Gord Davidson. Joe was a loving father, grandfather and a kind friend to many. Growing up in London, he loved his time at South Collegiate, especially his time on the football field. He was a talented football player and his love of football carried throughout his life as a devoted season ticket holder of the Western Mustangs. After his school years, Joe served as an Officer and fighter pilot for the Royal Canadian Air Force. He concluded his working life at Central Elgin Collegiate in St. Thomas where he found a new home being surrounded by the high energy of the students and teachers. Joe will be remembered for his love of life, wit, generosity and kind heart. He will be missed by many friends and family. A private family service will be conducted by Reverend Diane MacPherson at Harris Funeral Home and a tree will be planted at Woodland Cemetery as a living memory of Joe. Memorial donations to the Alzheimer's Society of Ontario or McCormick Home Foundation would be greatly appreciated in lieu of flowers.
