Judy & Craig: My deepest condolences on the loss of your father, my friend.
I first met Murray when I started at CFPL Radio in 1951. I certainly feel privileged to have known him through the years. He was a real gentleman and I will never forget his kindness and leadership.
I am so sorry I was unable to get to the gathering today, to say goodbye.

Mr Brown (as he will always be known to many of us) welcomed me into the Blackburn world when I arrived to take on the morning show at FM96 in the early 1980s. As I built a career and connected with the community he always offered an encouraging word whenever our paths crossed. He had faith in me, and that gave me great confidence. It also impressed me how so many in the community had great respect for him, his manner and ethics, and the company he helped build. That sort of integrity could only have been created by someone of his character. He represented the best of the broadcast industry, and left London a better place.

I was so sorry to hear about the death of your father. Although we haven't spoken in many years I still remember all the wonderful times I had at your house.
Both your parents were so gracious and welcoming. Once again my deepest sympathies.

Dear Judy and Craig:
Your father was one of the finest people I have known. I send my sincerest condolences to you and the rest of your family.
For many years, I and other members of my family had many business interactions with Murray and sometimes worked with him (as we did in connection with Chatham Cable TV, for example). He was extremely capable, eminently fair and a pleasure to deal with. I am honoured to have had him as a friend.
I will not be at Sunday's reception because I am in Florida. But, if I was, I would tell you that you should be very proud to have had him as your father, as I know you are.
