TRAINOR, Rita - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the loss of our dear mom, Rita Trainor (O'Hagan) on Thursday, February 27, 2014, at 90 years of age. Mom was a remarkable woman, ahead of her time in so many ways. She was one of the first female accountants at CIBC, an avid skier, golfer, painter, and environmentalist before it became fashionable. Later she embraced her time at St. Mary's Choir School, immersing herself in the life of the school beyond a secretary's role. Finally, she loved her time spent with friends playing bridge. Most of all Mom was a lover of people young and old, compassionately helping so many over the years. It was Mom's unshakeable faith and optimistic outlook that helped in her daily struggle in these last years with the increasing physical burdens of her disease. She is predeceased by her best friend and loving husband, Cyril, her siblings Patrick, Doris, Robert. She will forever be lovingly remembered for her practical wisdom, great faith, and loving generosity by her daughters Sheila (Carl) and Mary (Mark); her grandchildren Ryan, Clare, Margaret-Ann, Thomas, Philip, and Peter; her dear sister Kathleen; sisters-in-law Patricia and Madeline; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Harris Funeral Home, 220 St. James St. at Richmond. A Mass in celebration of Rita's life will be held at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 511 Cheapside St. at Maitland, on Tuesday, March 4 at 10 am. Parish Prayers in the funeral home on Monday at 7 pm. Interment will be at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Schomberg in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the ALS Society.
