ALLISON, Jean Edith - passed away peacefully at Westmount Gardens on Saturday, May 24th, 2014 in her 92nd year. Loving and cherished wife of Russell S. Allison for over 65 years. Jean was educated at Dutton High School and St. Thomas Business College and was employed by London Life before marrying her beloved Russ on March 5, 1949 and moving to Montreal. Jean provided enduring support to Russ throughout his long railway career. She will forever be remembered in his heart. Predeceased by her parents J. B. McKillop and Cela McRae, her sister Cela Sloan (2011) and her husband Dr. George Sloan (2013). Survived by daughter Joan Mowle and her husband Kevin, son John W. Allison and his wife Noreen. Loving Grannie to Darius and Siobhan Burbidge; Delage, Aibhlin and Declan Mowle; Sydney and Jane Allison. Also survived by sister Mary Bailey (Murray 1993), sister-in-law Lilias McKillop (Dunc 2008), sister-in-law Valorie Engle and her husband Greg Engle and sister-in-law Edith Turner (Jack 2007). Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Jean loved children. She was a Life Member and past Board Member of the Women's Auxiliary at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. A special thanks to the caregivers at Westmount Gardens for their kindness. Friends will be received at the Harris Funeral Home, 220 St. James St. at Richmond, on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Celebration of her Life will be held at Metropolitan United Church, 468 Wellington St. at Dufferin Ave. on Friday, May 30 at 11 am, with Rev. Dr. Jeff Crittenden officiating. Private interment later at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
