Lin-Cheung, Dr. Hsi Ping (Judy) - Dr. Hsi Ping (Judy) Lin-Cheung passed away peacefully at the St. Joseph's Hospice in her 66th year, early morning, on Friday May 30th, 2014. Predeceased by her parents, Yu-Chong Lin and Yung-Chun Choi. Beloved and devoted wife of 43 years to Prof. Cedric K.T. Cheung, cherished mother of Jane Cheung-Pang and Frederic Cheung, and beloved grandmother of Sarah and Emma, and a dear sister to her brother and three sisters. Together with her husband, Hsi Ping had dedicated passionately over 30 years of hard work for the Chinese Medicine community in Canada. She helped administrate the platform of a national Chinese Medicine organization, the Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture Association of Canada (CMAAC), with eight chapters across Canada, recognized nationally and around the world for the health of all mankind. CMAAC is recognized internationally by the World Federation of Acupuncture-Moxibustion Societies (WFAS); her husband, Prof. Cedric K.T. Cheung is a WFAS Vice President. She has made other contributions, including touching so many people with her compassion and generosity for her patients and people who have worked with her over the years. But, most importantly, her strong devotion and love for her family. She was the rock of her family, and her family will stay united to carry on her strength, courage, and love in their hearts. Indeed, with a heavy heart, she will be greatly missed by all of her family, friends, colleagues and staff. Visitation will be held at the Harris Funeral Home, 220 St. James Street at Richmond, on Sunday from 2:00pm - 4:00pm and 7:00pm - 9:00pm with prayers at 3:30pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Peter's Cathedral Basilica, 196 Dufferin Avenue, on Monday, June 2nd at 2:00pm. Cremation to follow, with interment in St. Peter's Cemetery at a later date.

It was a shock to receive this news. I remember her as an energetic, warm and thoughtful person. On behalf of myself and colleagues at the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute, I send you our condolences in the knowledge that, although your hearts are broken, you will be strong, as she would want you to be. With sincere best wishes and kind thoughts to all.

Dear Dr. Cheung. I am very sorry to hear of the passing of your wife. The loss of a partner is always difficult. My grandfather Freer from Petrolia died in 1991 at 88 and he and grandma had been together for 74 years. He had a pacemaker and grandma always wished it had a switch to slow him down.
I hope to see you personally in the near distance future to personally give my condolences.

I am Home
Where I am have gone I am not so small
My soul is as wide as the world is tall
I have gone to answer the call, the call of the One who takes care of us all
Wherever you look, you will find me there -
in the heart of a rose
in the heart of a prayer
On butterflies' wings, on wings of my own
To you, I'm gone
But I'm never alone -
I am home
Mommy, you talked so much of PoPo (my grandmother) and how much you missed her. We always watched for white butterflies and say how she is looking over us.
I will miss you so much but I know in my heart that you are at peace and joy with PoPo right now in heaven.
I will watch for white butterflies with my two children from now on.
I will be sad without you, but I promised I will carry your strength, love, and courage in my heart.

Dear Dr. Lin,
It seems that I just talked to you two months ago. At this moment, I am speechless and my heart is broken. However, my memory about you will be always there. You are such strong, passionate and generous person I ever met; and you have influenced me in my life deeply and profoundly. I have learned so much from my work at CMAAC and clinic; you and your family trusted me and treated me as part of your family. I was a lonely Chinese girl who has finally found her home. You are outstanding and special, and I am taking the memory of you with me while I continue my journey. May serenity and joy with you in Heaven. Thank you for those beautiful days you shared with me. Rest in peace and you will be forever missed so much.

Dear Prof Cheung, Jane, Wei-Hsi, and Fredric,
It is terrible and shocking when I heard this bad news. Having working in your organization and clinic for years while I resided in London was a gold experience for me. I have witnessed that Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture grow and flourish in Canada; particularly, I was touched for the devotion and dedication of Prof Cheung and Dr. Lin to the organization (CMAAC) and the profession. Personally, I have learned so much from my job as a Chinese secretary to the CMAAC and clinic. Dear Prof Cheung, I appreciate your family has helped me so much while I lived in Canada. I always think about you and your dedication to the profession. I can image your broken heart now but I can only cry and do not know how to comfort you but pray to God from the bottom of my heart. Dear Jane, Wei-Hsi, Sarah and Emma, you are such precious especially now to Prof Cheung. May God bless your family! Stay together and be strong. Dear Fredric, never forget the time we worked together. Please take care of yourself while you can still help your dad. From Columbus, Ohio, USA, my heart is always with all of you. May love and peace are with you.
Love Emily Lihua Zhang

It is with sincere sympathy that I hear of your loss. Your entire family has played an important part in my professional and personal path and I am so grateful to you all. It is with great sadness today that I have heard of this news of Judy. You are very much in my thoughts as well as many fond memories of Judy.
