Death Notice

Lin-Cheung, Dr. Hsi Ping (Judy) - Dr. Hsi Ping (Judy) Lin-Cheung passed away peacefully at the St. Joseph's Hospice in her 66th year, early morning, on Friday May 30th, 2014. Predeceased by her parents, Yu-Chong Lin and Yung-Chun Choi. Beloved and devoted wife of 43 years to Prof. Cedric K.T. Cheung, cherished mother of Jane Cheung-Pang and Frederic Cheung, and beloved grandmother of Sarah and Emma, and a dear sister to her brother and three sisters. Together with her husband, Hsi Ping had dedicated passionately over 30 years of hard work for the Chinese Medicine community in Canada. She helped administrate the platform of a national Chinese Medicine organization, the Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture Association of Canada (CMAAC), with eight chapters across Canada, recognized nationally and around the world for the health of all mankind. CMAAC is recognized internationally by the World Federation of Acupuncture-Moxibustion Societies (WFAS); her husband, Prof. Cedric K.T. Cheung is a WFAS Vice President. She has made other contributions, including touching so many people with her compassion and generosity for her patients and people who have worked with her over the years. But, most importantly, her strong devotion and love for her family. She was the rock of her family, and her family will stay united to carry on her strength, courage, and love in their hearts. Indeed, with a heavy heart, she will be greatly missed by all of her family, friends, colleagues and staff. Visitation will be held at the Harris Funeral Home, 220 St. James Street at Richmond, on Sunday from 2:00pm - 4:00pm and 7:00pm - 9:00pm with prayers at 3:30pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Peter's Cathedral Basilica, 196 Dufferin Avenue, on Monday, June 2nd at 2:00pm. Cremation to follow, with interment in St. Peter's Cemetery at a later date.
