Francolini, Joan (nee Barry). Passed away peacefully in her 81st year, at home in London June 22, 2014. Beloved wife of Geno Francolini. Loving mother of Lezlie (Don) Wolfe, Geoff (Wendy), Sara (Doug Bundock), Tony (Angie), James (Lisa), and Mark (Clair Galea) Francolini. Cherished grandmother to Kursten (Brooks), Alex, Spencer, Isabel, Rebecca, Graeme, William, Joanna, Sydney, Madison and Adam. Formally recognized for her community contributions receiving the Order of Ontario (2004), appointed as Brescia University College's first Chancellor (2013), and received an LL.D honoris causa from Western University (2012), Joan has been an active supporter of many causes throughout her life. She will be missed but continues to live in the hearts of those she touched. Special thanks to Dr. Faisal (King) Rehman, the medical teams and care workers that showed her much love and allowed her to remain at home. A private family funeral and interment has taken place. The family would like to celebrate her life and achievements and invite you to join us at this celebration at The Mercato at Brescia University College on Saturday, June 28, 2014, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with family remarks at 11 a.m. (www.brescia.uwo.ca, 519-432-8353). It was Joan's express wish that, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Francolini Leadership Fund at Brescia University College in care of the Brescia Foundation, 1285 Western Road, London, Ontario N6G 1H2.
