We are so sorry for your loss.
Family Ziemacki in Poland and in Chicago shares your sadness.
We all are going to miss our uncle Hubert.
Thanks to his strong desire to be connected
with family we had a chance to meet him and all of you.
His visits in Poland and in Chicago were always very appreciated. We spend hours looking at photographs of all of you and listening to many stories.
Those times are lost forever but the memory of them would stay in our hearts always.
We hope that he is in better place without the pain.

Hugh's gentle nature, acute perceptiveness, and quiet sense of humour will be missed -with regret that our paths never seemed to cross frequently or long enough. I recall him as a medical student, far wiser than his peers (and his mentors). I also recall him as one of the small band of physicians willing to take a public stand against the insanity of nuclear weapons. Finally, I recall him as a lover of good beer, willing to share a precious bottle of Creemore with me at a time when to obtain one required significant effort. He will be remembered with affection and gratitude.

My condolences to the family of Hubert Soltan. I am Murray Barr's youngest son, Dave. When I first met Dr Soltan and Judy, I was about 15 years old. I saw him at work at the medical school on South Street with all of Dad's crew who were all friends. The best times were at any of my dad's many house parties at 149 Windsor Ave. My Dad held Hubert in high regard as a peer. I thought as a kid that Hubert was from Royalty perhaps due to his name, but I always thought that he and Judy were such a striking couple. I am sorry that I will be away and unable to attend his memorial.

Hubert was the first. Genetic Counsellor at CPRI. He was most gentle and sensitive in communicating difficult news to anxious families. As a colleague I remember him as a true gentleman. My sympathy to his family, who I am certain will have wonderful memories

I remember Dr. Soltan as my teacher in Genetics in medical school and much later as my colleague in the Department of Pediatrics. He was one of the founders of genetics in Canada. He was always a calm voice of reason. Condolences to the family.
