Michael La Fave
LA FAVE, Michael - It is with heavy hearts and extreme sorrow we announce the peaceful passing of Michael Christopher La Fave, surrounded by his loving family at Victoria Hospital on his 35th birthday, September 14, 2014. Beloved son of Chris and Barb. Cherished big brother of Lisa. Grandson of the late Heinz and Margaret Gruneberg and Arnold and Eleanor La Fave. Adored nephew of Harold and his wife Juliane Gruneberg and Stephen La Fave. Cousin to Kari and Jessica Gruneberg. Nephew of the late Phillip La Fave. Lovingly remembered by his companion Tammy Yungblut and best friend Jason Gatt. The family would like to give special thanks to the doctors and especially his nurses Dave and Megan for all their support and compassion. Mike will be fondly remembered by many for his quick wit and special gift of always making people laugh. He had a heart of gold and would never hesitate to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Beef, as he was known in his younger years, was truly one of a kind. Mike enjoyed playing all sports but especially excelled at football. Mike worked at his dad’s shop and from a very young age had a gift of being able to fix and build anything mechanical. He adored his little sister from the day she was born and over the years formed an unbreakable bond. Anyone who had known Mike knew his biggest joy in life was the time he spent with his rotties and the unconditional love they shared for each other. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-5 pm at the Harris Funeral Home, 220 St. James St. at Richmond. Private interment to follow at a later date. A tree will be planted as a living memorial to Mike. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to the London Humane Society or an animal rescue group of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
