Richard Lambert

Death Notice

LAMBERT, Richard Barkey -Veteran of World War 2, teacher (CPRI), pastor, councilor, “a scholar and a gentleman". Peacefully, at Mount Hope Long Term Care Facility, in his 96th year, on November 16, 2014. Richard was a man of principle and commitment to service. That lifestyle began as a teenaged Boy Scout camp counselor, and extended through his years of military service, and many years of Christian ministry, and also as a teacher of challenged adolescents. For several years following his retirement from teaching, he tutored young people with head injuries. Beloved husband of Gloria Sullivan-Lambert. Loving father of Jane (Bruce Morgan), Dawn Lambert, Jonathan (Martha Cheney), and James (Wendy Peckham), much loved by 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Many, many thanks to the kind and caring staff of the 2nd floor of Marian Villa. Cremation has taken place. Visitation 7:00-9:00 pm, Thursday at the Harris Funeral Home, 220 St. James Street at Richmond. Memorial Service at Westview Baptist Church, 1000 Wonderland Road South on Friday, November 21 at 2:30 pm. Interment at a later date at Hope Baptist Church, Hopetown, Quebec.
