Death Notice

PITT, William Harry (Bill) - Passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at Parkwood in his 94th year. Beloved husband of the late Wilma Pitt. Loving father of Doug (Bernadette) and Don (Barb). He will be especially missed by his five wonderful grandchildren Kathleen, Teresa, William, Ellen, and Matthew and great-grandchild Anniek. He will be fondly remembered by his brother Tom Pitt, brother-in-law Russell Getsinger, and his nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents William and Gladys, sister Valerie Sloane, and great-grandson Lazarus Pitt. Bill was a WWII RCAF Spitfire Squadron 411 veteran. Bill retired after a lengthy career in the Federal Public service. The family would like to recognize the care, compassion and respect of the wonderful staff at Parkwood 5B South and the Colborne St. United Church Ministers. Visitation will take place on Sunday, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Harris Funeral Home, 220 St. James Street at Richmond where the memorial service will be conducted on Monday, June 8 at 10:00 a.m. with reception to follow. A private family interment will be held at Woodland Cemetery. Donations to Colborne Street United Church or Parkwood Institute may be made in memory of Bill.
