JOHNSTON, Jay Bennett - On Saturday, April 30, 2016 at his home in London, age 60. Beloved husband and best friend of Arlene. Proud father of Matthew. Dear brother of Gary (Sandi) and Richard (Vera). He will also be sadly missed by the Wilson family: Betty Wilson and her children Philip (Elaine), Ruth (Dan), the late Mark (Nancy), Lyn (Al “Bubba"), Neil (Rose), Paul (Jodi), and all of their families. Jay lived life with passion and with deep care for his family, friends and community. The Johnston family has served London and area in the jewellery business for 100 years. Jay studied at UWO and later became a Gemologist. He was dedicated to his customers at Jay Johnston Jewellers for 38 years and in 2016 they recognized him with Best of London ‘Jewellery Store’. He enjoyed sharing stories of his days playing keyboard with his band Dancin’ Machine. He was active in his community and committed to the work of Crime Stoppers. He was an avid golfer and supporter of the London Knights. The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Patrick Luke’s staff at 8th floor University Hospital. What a shock this is...a kinder soul you could never find. Jay was loved by everyone who had the honour of meeting him, if only for a moment.
My deepest sympathy to you all.

London will miss Jay

So very sorry to hear about the untimely passing of Jay Johnston. He was my jeweler for 20 some odd years and such a dedicated, upbeat man. We got my engagement ring from you many moons ago and he also personally would pick wonderful replacement stones from Toronto for me from when he went there. London will miss you, Jay and every time I look at my rings with the stones that you chose for them, I will think of you.
Thank you Jay for your caring contributions to your customers and your city, and condolences to Jay's family as well. Lovely to meet the rest of Jay's family although the circumstances were these.
