Death Notice

LEITCH, Maurine - Peacefully at Henley Place on Friday, May 27, 2016, Maurine Helen Leitch of London in her 81st year. Beloved daughter of the late Hugh “Doug" and Helen Leitch, nee Martin. Dear sister of the late Hugh Leitch Jr., Sheila Pauli, and Terrence (infant). Fondly remembered by brother-in-law Bill Pauli, nephews Brent (Amy) and Trevor (Marcia), and several dear friends. Maurine was proud to have been born and raised a Broughdale girl. Her career in teaching started in the elementary panel in Toronto and then Alvinston, and eventually she taught in Parkhill and St. Marys. She provided opportunities for thousands of students by coaching multiple sports throughout her secondary career and also was instrumental in developing a multi-department outdoor education program that involved yearly trips to Cypress Lake. She enjoyed her summers at the cottage and will be greatly missed by her “Fanshawe Family". A Celebration of Her Life will be held at Harris Funeral Home, 220 St. James St. at Richmond, on Saturday, June 4 at 1 pm, with visitation preceding from 12 noon - 1 pm. Reception to follow at the funeral home. Private cremation and interment at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
