BROWN, Estelle Alma - In London, Ontario on May 28, 2016 with her family by her side. Estelle was born in Charlottetown, P.E.I. on Nov. 20, 1917. Predeceased by her cherished husband Jack, sister Frances (Ambrock) and brothers Graham and Bill and survived by her sister Liz (Fosberg), son Keith of Ottawa, daughter Frances Reimer (Alvin) of London, Ontario and 5 deeply loved grandchildren: David, Matthew, Paul, Rachel and Samantha. The eldest of 5, she grew up in Edmonton, Alberta. Illness prevented her from completing a degree in nursing. In 1944, wedding cake on her lap, Mom journeyed by train to New York City to marry Jack whom she had met while working at the Edmonton Public Library. They moved to Ottawa in 1957 when Jack became Director of the National Science Library (CISTI). While supporting her husband and raising her family, Mom continued her activities in church life both in the altar guild and as an organist and boy's choir mother at Ashbury College and the parishes of St. Columba Anglican and St. Alban's Anglican. Her final years were spent in London where she made many new friends and lived a full and active life. The family extends sincerest thanks to Dr. Michelle Lockhart for her gentle care and to the exceptional staff of Highview Residences. Private family celebration and interment to be arranged. Mom will be remembered for her generous spirit. In keeping with her life-time ministry of helping others, donations to Help Lesotho, 610 Bronson Ave. Ottawa Ont.
