It has been an incredible couple of years re-connecting with James since highschool.
I am very glad that our sons became good friends, and through them, James and I became good friends.
Thank you James, for getting me out mountain biking again, and for giving me the confidence to tackle more home-improvement projects (knowing you were right there to fix my mistakes).

Pam, George and Mary,
Its with tears in my eyes, that I write this post.
James and I grew up together - neighbours on Green Acres drive and as children, we spent many hours together riding the bus to Masonville school; walking up and down the "hill" from highschool;, and sharing early morning rides to rowing practice. I feel so fortunate to have known him both through my childhood and into adulthood. His quiet, sparkly sense of humour and genuine interest in people connected him to so many and like many others, I believe that the world has lost a wonderful man. James lived his live with passion and integrity and LOVED his family (Pam, Its with tears in my eyes, that I write this post.

Seeing us through a number of home renovations; he acted as counsellor/mentor/advisor to Gord and I and, of course, was the true "Bob the Builder" in the eyes of our boys. I can't imagine what the coming days and months will be like for you and I'm sending you strength and positive energy to support all of you through this truly devastating loss. My heart is breaking for you.

I have very fond childhood and teenage memories of James and family at the Bayfield cottage and in Florida. He had a heart of gold, and would light up the room with his smile, always willing to help out. He was a master renovator and very skilled in his work, and a true gentleman.
George and Martha, Pam, Don, Shirley, thinking of you during this very difficult time. I am sad to hear of his passing.

It is with such a heavy heart, that I've come to learn of James' passing. It was my pleasure to re-acquaint with James & Pam once back in London, as our kids shared the same school yard. With those beautiful eyes and warm heart, you approached us with such authenticity and genuine kindness. Characteristics that seem to be fleeting at times. You were consistent and true in your calm, yet focused presence. This seems such an irrational and unfair happening for all. My heart is so sad for Pam, your boys and your family.

Sending my deepest sympathies to the Bere family. I cannot even imagine what all of you are going through!!!
I would like to share that Bonnie and I played Volleyball with the Bere Boys (George and James) and James smile was infectious. How could we be so competitive with a smile. All I can say is the God truly picked a winner to add to his flock. If there is a shining star up above, it is because it is bouncing off James smile. With Deepest Sympathies, Connie

Dear Pam, Benjamin and Jacob,
Please accept my most sincere sympathy on the passing of James.
You do not know me, but I grew to know James on his many visits to Home Depot London North over the years. I worked in the Windows ad Doors Department for several years, and it was always a pleasure to visit with him. He was such a kind, soft-spoken fellow, and we had many wonderful conversations, about his family and mine, and the building of the cottage on the shores of Lake Huron. I valued his chats and thought of him as a friend. It was a total privilege to know him! The phrase that comes to my mind when I think of James, is that he was "such a nice guy".
I know that you will miss him terribly, and please know that you and the rest of his family are in my thoughts and prayers.
With kind thoughts,
Jim Patterson, Strathroy, Ontario

Dear Pam and family, I am so sorry to hear the tragic news of James’ passing. We were good friends in high school, so many wonderful memories from that time in our lives. Just the other day, I reminisced with some friends of an epic skiing adventure we had with James. His smile, never to be forgotten, would radiate the kindness of his character. One could always count on his infectious laugh to lift the spirits of those around him. James was an outstanding person, a true gentleman, and the world is a poorer place for his absence. My deepest condolences to all of you during this difficult time.

Dear Pam, Don, Shirley, Mary, George, and family...my heart broke when I heard the news of James' passing. Timothy and Natalie let us know about your terrible and sudden loss.
We are, of course, shocked and deeply saddened, especially for you, Ben and Jacob.
James was such a lovely man. I have a very fond memory of spending an afternoon with him, your two boys and Sam and Margot at the playground by the tracks on Waterloo. The children were(perhaps uncharacteristically?) happily playing together while James and I chatted, and I found him a relaxed and delightful person. He was always friendly and engaging when we would meet at St. George's events, etc.
I can't begin to imagine your grief and the sorrow, and the confusion of Ben and Jacob at the loss of their wonderful Dad.
We can only offer our condolences and our profound sympathy.
We shall be keeping you all in our prayers.
With love, Carol and Michael
