A Memorial Service to celebrate Jean’s life will be held at Harris Funeral Home, 220 St. James St. at Richmond on Monday, August 22 at 12 noon.

Death Notice

KERR, Jean - At Mount Hope Centre for Long Term Care, London on Thursday, August 18, 2016. The long goodbye has finally been said, after 16 years bravely and patiently enduring the devastating effects of Alzheimer’s disease. Jean fought the disease with quiet courage. Jean Kerr, of London, beloved daughter of the late Georgina and James Kerr. Loving sister of Marjorie Skidmore and her husband John of Australia and Enid Pullen and her husband David of England. Dear Aunt to Anne, Paul and Peter of Australia, Andrew of the Netherlands, Timothy and Christopher of England. Also survived by numerous great nieces and great nephews. Jean’s warm smile, compassionate nature and strong commitment to the nursing profession will be remembered by all who knew her. She will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by her friends and family. Jean was a valued friend of Judy and Bob Caley and family. She will be especially missed but forever lovingly remembered by her very dear friend June Kelly, who journeyed with her, “The Long Way Home." Sincere thanks to St. Mary’s third floor staff, especially Judy R.N., Cathy, Glenda and Kendal, for their care and support of Jean over the years. A Memorial Service to celebrate Jean’s life will be held at Harris Funeral Home, 220 St. James St. at Richmond on Monday, August 22 at 12 noon with visitation preceding from 11 am - 12 noon. Interment in Montreal Memorial Park at a later date. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Jean are asked to consider the Alzheimer Society of London and Middlesex, 435 Windermere Rd., London, ON, N5X 2T1, or visit someone in a long term care facility. Even if they do not know your name, they will know that you care. A tree will be planted as a living memorial to Jean.
