Our heartfelt thoughts and prays are with the DeKay family at this time of loss. George was such a kindhearted, caring person, who always desired to motivate others. He was a respected gentleman, scholar, and friend who we will miss.

Mr. DeKay was my homeroom teacher at White Oaks PS in the late 1970s. I remember him as a kind man with a passion for teaching. My condolences to his family and friends at this difficult time.

George was truly a gentleman and inspiration to all that had the pleasure to know him. Although I only had the pleasure of speaking to George on a few occasions, he left a lasting and memorable impression. The world has lost a man of kindness, consideration and caring. Keep all of the warm and loving memories of George close to your hearts, and he will remain with you forever.
Rest peacefully my friend.
I will keep your memory in my thoughts and prayers.

As a member of the Hyde Park community, I knew George over many years, just as my family has known his. In particular, I shared George's interest in local history and worked with him to write the stories of many Hyde Park families for the London Township History. He especially wanted to ensure that families without current descendants in the area would not be forgotten. With his passing our collective memory has been diminished, even as his efforts have left a rich legacy for future generations.
With sincere sympathy,
Trish Crawford and Family

Dear Dekay Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. I only met George a couple of times in person but he was a very nice man. He came over to Forest Cliff one night this summer and we enjoyed a meal together. He seemed to have a good time.
Rob, I hope you and Karen are doing well.
Many blessings to the Dekay family on behalf of myself and Forest Cliff Camp.
