ECHLIN, David Michael (Dave) - It is with deep sadness that the Echlin family announces his passing on Tuesday, November 15, 2016. He died peacefully at home with his family at his side, at the age of 79. He was the loving husband of Carole for 57 years, caring father to Mike (Shannon) and Meg (Jerry) and proud granddad of Rachael and Ethan, dear uncle to Sarah and Lucy (Dennes) and special uncle to Pablo. Dave will be remembered fondly by his many close friends and neighbours. He spent his career working at the London Life and proudly retired at “Freedom 55." Dave was an avid bowler, card player, reader, puzzler, writer and lover of music, especially Frank Sinatra. His devotion to his family, and special love for his children and grandchildren was evident to all who knew him. The family would like to thank the many health professionals who supported Dave over the past few years with such care and compassion, with a special thanks to Dr. K. McClelland, Dr. L. Moist, Dr. W. Thompson, Dr. R. Inculet, Linda and Nancy. Cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received at the Harris Funeral Home, 220 St. James Street at Richmond in London on Friday, November 18 from 7-9 p.m. A celebration of Dave’s life will occur on Saturday, November 19 at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Siloam United Church: Echlin Music Scholarship Fund or a donation to LHSF- Division of Thoracic Surgery or LHSF Kidney Research Unit.

Carole and Family;
Sharon and I wish to express our sadness at Dave's passing. We both knew him through London Life and recently he was part of the "grumpy old guys" breakfast group - he will be sadly missed.
We are unable to be with you this weekend as we are in Minnesota, but will be with you in our thoughts.
