HOLT, Elaine Anne, B.A., M.A. - On Monday, December 26, 2016 in her 72nd year. Survived by her husband Dale James Holt, her son, John William Holt, her daughter-in-law, Michelle Holt, her much loved grandsons, Dylan and Lucas Holt, her brother David Hodder and his wife, Nora Hodder, and nieces Becki, Jennifer, and Claire and nephew Thomas. Elaine was a lover of books and language and music and dogs. She taught English at Montcalm and South High Schools and continued one-on-one tutoring after her retirement because she enjoyed her contact with students. The family thanks all the staff at the Cancer Centre for making a long ordeal humane. A Memorial Service will be conducted at the Harris Funeral Home, 220 St. James Street at Richmond on Friday, December 30 at 4:30 p.m., with visitation preceding from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation to The London Regional Cancer Centre would be appropriate.

My sincere thoughts and prayers Dale and John. I have many fond memories of our years when we lived much closer together. May you find consolation knowing Elaine is no long suffering and is at peace.

My association with Elaine was through my son Jay, who was a public school playmate and fellow Cub Scout of John's. Elaine was always very pleasant and her quiet manner and nice smile made her a lovely person to know.

I am so sorry to hear of Elaine's death. She was a childhood friend in Port Hilford, NS.
(her parent's summer home). Her mother, Ella was always so proud of her daughter.. and I hope that part of the ceremony will be a celebration of a life well lived.

Dear Dale and family. It was very shocking and sad news when I heard of Elaine's passing. Elaine and I started our teaching careers at Montcalm teaching in portables around Lucas SS. Elaine of course left after a few years to teach at South. When she returned as head of the English Department, it was as if an old friend had come home. She was truly a lovely and talented lady. I'm sorry I can not be there today but my thoughts and prayers are with all of you. God bless Carl Crossett (Montcalm Science Dept. retired)

Dale, I am so sorry to read of Elaine's passing. Keep all your memories and all the good times close to your heart, and hug your son and his children often. Keep well, as it has been years since I left the University Bookstore.

Elaine and I met several times over the last many years- when she saw me for some short term physiotherapy treatment
We always had great talks as well and besides work, it was fun to be with her..!
My condolences to Elaine's family and friends...she was a lovely person
