Peacefully at University Hospital, on Dec 3, 2016, Lynn Ellis of London in her 78th year. Beloved wife of the late Paul Ellis. Loving mother of Nancy (John) Scott-Thomas of Ottawa, the late Tannis (Jason) Brown of Charlotte, North Carolina, and David (Jennifer) Ellis of Hamilton. Proud Grandmother of Alexandra, Dylan, Julia, Drew, Megan, Hanna and Katelyn.
Lynn was born and raised in Winnipeg. She graduated with a BSc from the University of Manitoba. After marrying Paul, they moved to London. She volunteered at the London Art Gallery and met many of her lifelong friends there. Lynn later thrived as a manager of HR at Canada Trust. After retirement, Lynn and Paul had many happy years, travelling the world and visiting friends.
Lynn was warm, friendly, intelligent and nurturing. She had a quick smile and loving, positive personality. Even the ravages of Alzheimer’s Disease did not take away her happy demeanor and desire to help others.
We want to thank the many friends and family who continued to visit her at McCormick Home over the last 8 months. We are also very grateful to the staff at McCormick Home for making her feel comfortable and cared for during this very difficult final year.
A memorial service will be conducted at Metropolitan United Church, 468 Wellington Street at Dufferin Ave. on Saturday, April 29 at 11 am. Reception to follow in the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer Society or McCormick Care Foundation in London.
