DR. BARBARA CORBETT
Dr. Barbara Elizabeth Corbett (86) passed away on August 22, 2017 peacefully at University Hospital in London Ontario in the presence of her loving life-long friend, Judith Bowlby and family. She is survived by her brother Robert Corbett and his wife Judy, her sister-in-law Tam Corbett and her niece Debbie and husband David Mier and five grand nieces and nephews.
Dr. Corbett and Judith Bowlby have left an amazing legacy of serving children and families for over 47 years in Mississauga Ontario at The Froebel Kindergarten and School formerly located on Dundas Street West. Her passion for, her dedication to and her joy in children led her to create a school founded on the principles of the 19th century German educator Friedrich Froebel. He maintained children's education must begin with their own natural activity...learning through play. There are literally hundreds of families whose children have gone on to become "out of the box thinkers and leaders" based on the creative atmosphere at Froebel which nurtured children to stretch themselves doing things normally thought beyond them.
Barbara loved the Lord and served Him with joy. There must have been a celebration in heaven when she arrived and a room prepared just for her full of children and West Highland puppies. She shall be forever missed.
