Ellen Van Til (Van Harmelen)

Death Notice

Ellen Van Til (Van Harmelen) A great woman, a gift from God. Jesus lives: be not afraid! Take by faith God's promised surety! All our sins in Christ are paid: death is swallowed up in victory. God shall raise us from the dust: Jesus Christ, our hope and trust! (from the CRC's Psalter Hymnal). On Good Friday, April 14th, 2006, Ellen went to be with Jesus, the one who died for her and who said today you will be with me in Paradise. As Jesus was raised from death so she will be; praise God! Easter in heaven; wonderful. Ellen was born in The Netherlands in 1939 and came to Canada with her parents, John Van Harmelen and Elisabeth Lagerwey in 1953. In 1961 she married John Van Til. Their family now includes: Gloria and Brian Lubben (Michael, Rachel, Daniel), Reuel Van Til (Jessica and friend Kyle; Kaeden), John and Joanne Van Til (Rebecca, Katie), Elaine and Greg May (Lauren, Anna, Evan, Olivia), Brenda and Joel Moniz (Faith). Ellen's siblings are: Joanne and Alvin Beukema, Cor Van Harmelen and Kathie Rogero, Andy and Gerda Van Harmelen. A brother Andre died in infancy. Friends will be received at Bethel Christian Reformed Church, 716 Classic Drive, London, on Monday from 2:00 till 4:00 P.M. and from 7:00 till 9:00 P.M. and Tuesday from noon till 1:00 P.M. A service to celebrate Ellen's life will be conducted at Bethel Church at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 18th followed by interment at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, sympathy may be expressed through donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Christian Reformed Home Missions. (James A. Harris Funeral Home)
