Richard Douglas Tew

Death Notice

TEW Richard Douglas Tew, peacefully at University Hospital on Thursday, October 26, 2006 in his 96th year. Beloved husband for 65 years of Margaret. Loving father of Kathryn and John and his wife Julie. Dear grandfather of Jonathan Tew. Brother of the late Clarence and John Tew, Helen Collier, Joyce Wilde, and Jean Tew. He will be lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Richard was an Elder and for over 50 years an active member at New St. James Presbyterian Church. He began his career with the Imperial Bank. During WWII he served with the Canadian Armed Forces in British Columbia. In 1946, he moved to London to join Club House Foods, now McCormick Canada, where he served in a variety of executive positions and was a director of the company. Richard was a past president of the Canadian Spice Association and a life member of the Canadian Professional Sales Association. A memorial service will be conducted at New St. James Presbyterian Church, 280 Oxford St. at Wellington, on Tuesday, October 31 at 2:00 p.m. Cremation will be followed by interment at a later date at Glen Orchard Community Cemetery, Muskoka. Memorial contributions to the Lung Association or the Thames Valley Children's Centre would be gratefully acknowledged.
