Death Notice

THOMPSON Rose Thompson (nee Krestensen) peacefully at University Hospital on Monday, January 29, 2007. Beloved wife of the late Major Hugh Thompson. She is survived by her loving daughter Kristen Janie Budzyn and cherished grandson Michael Charles Budzyn. Also survived by her dear brother-in-law Arnold Harris, sister-in-law Dorothy Krestensen, and nieces Karen (John) Nicolson, Kristeen Krestensen and Kathryn Breau, as well as by several grand-nieces and grand-nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved twin sister Lilly Harris, brothers Evald Verner Krestensen and Aage F. J. Krestensen, and by cousin Evelyn Morritt. Rose was born in Esbjerg, Denmark, and came to London from New York City at the age of 1 1/2. She was a long-time member of St. Luke's (Broughdale) Anglican Church. Along with her twin sister Lill, she owned and operated a couturier business in London and retained a life-long interest in fashion. She was very supportive of her late husband's military career and also encouraged her daughter and her grandson in their pursuit of higher education. Friends may call during the hour preceding the memorial service which will be conducted at the James A. Harris Funeral Home, 220 St. James at Richmond, on Thursday, February 1 at 12:00 noon by Archdeacon Jane Humphreys. Cremation with interment at Woodland Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or St. Luke's (Broughdale) Anglican Church would be gratefully acknowledged.
