SHIELDS Ausma (Kalnins) Shields, received peacefully to the Lord, after a courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, January 30, 2007, surrounded by her loving family and friends. Beloved Wife of Jock Shields for 54 years. Cherished Mother of Donna and her husband Karsten Schulz, Jacqueline Shields, Catherine and her husband David Rose and Robert Shields, all of London. Loving Nana of Kristyn, Andrew and Anika Schulz, Adam and Meghan Rose. Loving Sister-in-law of Dorothy McCullough of Brockville. Beloved Aunt of Denise and Ron Wexler of London and their sons Jason, Jamie and Jonathan. Dear Aunt of Joyce and Hugh Cutler of New Jersey and their children Vanessa and Cavanaugh. Predeceased by her Father Jules and Mother Valentina (Varpa) and Brothers Gunars, Ivars, Janis and Larlis, all of Latvia. Ausma showed much courage, strength, determination, creativity and passion in all that she accomplished in her life. You will be forever precious. Friends may call on Saturday, February 3 from 2- 4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the James A. Harris Funeral Home, 220 St. James Street at Richmond. A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, February 24 at 2:00 p.m. in First-St. Andrew's United Church, 350 Queens Avenue at Waterloo by The Rev. Dr. David McKane.
