Maxwell G. Howard
HOWARD Maxwell G. C. Howard, CA, peacefully at home on Monday, April 2, 2007, in his 89th year. Beloved husband of Daphne Frances Frederica (nee Armour) for 65 years. Dear father of Philip and Derek and father-in-law of Marilyn and Renata. Sadly missed by his grandchildren Corwin, Alexandra, and Olivia. Predeceased by his parents Guy Charles Howard and Gladys Rita Howard (nee Paul) and his half sister Eve Arnaud. Maxwell grew up in Brighton, England between the two world wars. Maxwell and Daphne were married in London, England in 1942. He passed the Institute of Chartered Accountants exams in 1943 and continued to work in London, England throughout World War II. After the war, he worked in Paris and Brussels. He emigrated to Canada in 1952 and lived in Montreal until he retired from Thorne Riddell (now KMPG) in 1977 and moved to London, Ontario in 1978. Maxwell was an avid reader and collector of World War II history books and biographies of the political and military leaders of the period. He was also a model railway hobbyist from his childhood and built and maintained "O" gauge and "HO" gauge layouts for much of his life. Friends may call during the hour preceding the service which will be conducted at the James A. Harris Funeral Home, 220 St. James Street at Richmond, London on Saturday, April 7 at 2:00 p.m. Cremation with interment later. Memorial contributions to the Salvation Army or charity of your choice would be gratefully acknowledged.
