Gordon Campbell

Death Notice

H. R. Gordon Campbell, peacefully at University Hospital on Wednesday, May 16, 2007 in his 91st year. Beloved husband for 60 years and best friend of Jean, nee Palethorpe. Loving father of Marilyn Millar and her husband Bob of Toronto, Diane Evans and her husband Jim of Mississauga, and Walter of London. Dear grandfather of David Millar, Jessica and Christopher Evans. Brother-in-law of Maxine Campbell of White Rock, B.C. He will be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews. Gord was overseas during World War II from December, 1942 and served in North Africa, Sicily and Italy where he was wounded. He also served in administrative positions in England and Holland until 1946. Gord joined Rotary International in Picton in 1947. He was a charter member of the Rotary Club of London West (1961) and was Past District Governor of Rotary International (1985-86). The Campbells have been members of Riverside United Church since 1959. Friends may call on Monday from 2 4 and 7 9 p.m. at the James A. Harris Funeral Home, 220 St. James Street at Richmond. The funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, May 22 at 11:00 a.m. at Riverside United Church, 451 Dunedin Drive at Riverside. Interment Woodland Cemetery. Memorial contributions to Riverside United Church or the Rotary Club of London West Foundation would be gratefully acknowledged.
