Marilyn Waters

Death Notice

WATERS Marilyn Elizabeth Waters, 62, died peacefully on June 14, 2007 at her home in London, Ontario. Marilyn was born December 20, 1944 to Robert and Martha Totzke of Waterloo, Ontario. Raised and educated in Kitchener-Waterloo, Marilyn entered the Victoria Hospital School of Nursing in London in 1963, graduating in the class of 1966. Marilyn's childhood ambition of becoming a nurse was fulfilled when she began working first at Victoria Hospital and later at St. Joseph's Hospital in London where she spent many happy years in the high-risk ante-natal unit. Because of health problems, Marilyn retired from nursing at age 55 having completed over 34 years in the nursing profession. Marilyn was a happy, caring person who enriched the lives of all who knew her and who also enjoyed her infectious laugh. Marilyn is survived by her beloved husband and life partner Jim as well as their daughter Kathy of Calgary, Alberta. Predeceased by her father Robert Totzke (1980), Marilyn is sadly missed by her mother Martha Totzke, her brothers John (Pat) and Steve (Monique) Totzke. Also missed by her Aunt Amelia Sennik and her six nephews and nieces as well as her sister-in-law Heather Bedford and her husband Allan. Marilyn had many good friends and neighbours who will also miss her cheerful smile and her wonderful sense of humour. A private service celebrating Marilyn's life was held at the James A. Harris Funeral Home followed by interment at Woodland Cemetery, London. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be gratefully acknowledged.
