Major Donald E. Wellman, CD Retired, suddenly at his residence on Wednesday, August 29, 2007, age 81. Beloved husband of the late Joan E. Wellman, nee Parker. Cherished companion of Mitzi Allen. Loving father of Mary Elizabeth Wellman of London, Sandy and his wife Martina of Goderich; dear Grandfather of Katherine, Rachel, Anna and Eric Wellman. Brother of Frank Wellman (the late Barbara) and the late Bruce Wellman. Brother-in-law of Bob and Diane Vankleek of London and Laurie and Vivian Parker of Florida. Uncle of Scott (Anne) Wellman, Leisa Cuddy (Roger) and Jon Vankleek and great-uncle of Drew and Elisabeth Cuddy. Loving extended family to Pam and Jim Sweetman and children Brian, Kate and Scott Johns. Son of the late Olive (Rousom) and Mac Wellman. Major Wellman was a member of the Essex Scottish Regiment and a 50 year member of the Royal Canadian Military Institute. Friends may call on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the James A. Harris Funeral Home, 220 St. James St. at Richmond. The funeral service will be conducted at St. Paul's Cathedral, 472 Richmond St. at Queens Ave., on Saturday, September 1 at 10:30 a.m. Interment Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
