Wallace Hawthorne

Death Notice

HAWTHORNE Wallace Delmar Hawthorne, peacefully at Country Terrace, Komoka on Monday, January 28, 2008 in his 96th year. He was born on April 23, 1912 in Alabama. Predeceased by his wife Violet, son-in-law Steve Wilson, brothers Jack, Howard and Ron. Survived by his daughter Dianne; grandchildren Shawn (Heather) of Kaslo, British Columbia, Jennifer of London, Christopher (Maria) of London, Shad (Amy) also of Kaslo; and great-grandchildren Cole, Aidan, and Avery. Mr. Hawthorne was a lifetime member of the Musician's Union and participated in ensembles of all styles including Symphony, String Quartet, and large and small dance bands. His instruments included violin, viola, saxaphone and clarinet. He was also a tenor soloist at Robinson Memorial United Church. Cremation has taken place and a private interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. In his memory, string instruments have been donated to Ryerson Public School and Central Secondary School. (www.HarrisFuneralHome.ca)
