Helen Hoggarth

Death Notice

Hoggarth, Helen Bernice, nee Britton - peacefully at McGarrell Place on Friday, November 21, 2008 in her 93rd year. Beloved wife of the late Archie Hoggarth (2000). Loving mother of Jane Dilworth and her husband Geoff of London, Bruce and his wife Ilona of Chaska, Minnesota, and Katherine Karbownik and her husband Richard of Toronto. Beloved grandmother of Rob and his fiancée Agnes Spievak, Jennifer Dilworth, Allison Witcraft and her husband Nick, and Melanie Hoggarth. She was a devoted member of New St. James Presbyterian Church and was a past president of the Women's Missionary Society. Helen loved music. Since 1936, she was involved in several elementary school boards as an itinerant music teacher until her retirement in 1972. Friends may call on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the James A. Harris Funeral Home, 220 St. James Street at Richmond. The funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, November 25 at 1:30 p.m. at New St. James Presbyterian Church, 280 Oxford Street East at Wellington. Interment in the spring in Staffa Cemetery.
