Thompson, Dorothy May- peacefully at Elmwood Place on Thursday, December 4, 2008 in her 91st year. Predeceased by her husband Russell Thompson. Cherished mother to Rosemarie (Baker) Kelly. Adoring Nana to Angela Wilson (Andrew) and David Baker. Special Great Nana to Cameron, Emily and Sarah. Dorothy worked at St. Joseph's Hospital in London in the newborn nursery. She loved working with babies and over the years looked after hundreds of newborns and their mothers. When she retired she spent many hours doing volunteer work especially at Marian Villa. Dorothy also knitted dozens of finger puppets for children in hospital and helped at monthly birthday parties at Parkwood for veterans. Dorothy truly believed in giving back to the community and enjoyed every hour of her volunteer time. Many thanks to the staff at Elmwood Place for their support and care. Friends may call on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m at the James A. Harris Funeral Home, 220 St. James Street at Richmond. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Peters Basilica, 196 Dufferin Avenue at Richmond on Monday, December 8 at 10:00 a.m. Cremation with interment in St. Peter's Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the charity of choice would be gratefully acknowledged.
