Angus L. McKenzie

Death Notice

Angus L. McKenzie Q.C., L.L.D., LSM It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Angus LeRoy McKenzie on Monday January 19, 2009, beloved husband of Jean, loving father of Kate (Bob McIntosh), Carol (Joe Adams) and Ian and grand daughters Brooke and Presley Wellington. Dear brother of Patricia Paddon, predeceased by his grandson Ben Burnett and his brothers Harold McKenzie and Tom McKenzie and sisters Marion Wing, Donna Picard, Rosalyn Eagen and Carol MacDonald. After graduating from Western in 1949 with a Bachelor of Arts in Honours Economics and Political Science, Angus attended Osgoode Hall Law School, at the University of Toronto and was called to the Bar in 1953. Angus is a past President of the Middlesex Law Association and a past Vice President of the Advocates Society of Ontario. Angus was a founding partner at the law firm of McKenzie Lake Lawyers LLP, and in 2007, received the Law Society Medal and a Doctor of Laws from the University of Western Ontario in 2008. Angus believed in giving back to the community - A favourite quote was "A shroud has no pockets". Together with his wife, Jean, he was an ardent fundraiser and supporter of countless charitable organizations. In both the law, and fund raising, he worked passionately until the end. Visitation will be held at First St. Andrews Church, 350 Queens Ave. at Waterloo St. on Thursday, January 22, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. The service will be at the church on Friday, January 23rd at 2 p.m.
