Katherine Caroline Stevens Hickey (née Guppy) Sept. 7, 1912 - April 22, 2009 Daughter of the late Harry E. and Emma Guppy of Windsor, Ont., Kay moved to London in the 1930s to attend the University of Western Ontario, where she graduated in Arts, fell in love, married and raised her family. Along the way, she developed a passion for travel, reading, bridge and her cottage at Bayfield, Ont. She was the widow of Stewart Nicol Stevens (dec. 1966) and William Ross Hickey (1985). She was predeceased by her beloved grandsons Christopher Stevens and Kiran van Rijn and by her sister Margaret (Mrs. Hugh) Graybiel of Windsor. Katherine is survived by her son Geoffrey Stevens and his wife Linda Stevens, of Cambridge, Ont., and by her daughter Carol van Rijn and her husband Dr. Theo van Rijn, of Vancouver. She leaves five grandchildren - Alexandra Stevens (Mike Garrels); Sean Stevens (Sarah); Catriana van Rijn; and Casey and Jamie Stevens - and three great-grandchildren: Jack and Andrew Stevens and Jessica Garrels, all of Toronto. Cremation with family service at graveside in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, London. Arrangements entrusted to James A. Harris Funeral Home. No visitation. In lieu of flowers, the family will welcome donations to the charity of your choice.
