HAWKES, Margaret Elizabeth, nee Warren - At her residence in London on Tuesday, May 19, 2009, in her 90th year. Beloved wife of Richard Hawkes for 57 years. Dear sister of John Warren and his wife Audrey, and Martha Warren Falls and her late husband Meredith, all of Montreal. Predeceased by her parents, Helen MacArthur and Harold Warren. Cherished Aunt of Cindy Warren and Stephen Warren (Aeu Lam), both of Vancouver; Geoffrey Warren (Debbie) of Montreal; Sheila Schwaneflugel (Bill) of Vermont; Bob Falls (Lynne) of Calgary; Betsy Hamilton (Doug) of London; Andrew Falls (Kelly) of Oakville. Special Great-Aunt of Emilie, Jessie, Megan, Laura, Angus, Graydon, Christopher, Catherine, Anne, Kimberly, Robbie, Gregory and Scott. Sister-in-law of Barbara Hawkes Krogel, her husband Bill, and remembered by their children Jennifer, Heather, Douglas and Valerie. Margie will also be missed by the Bovey and Amsden families, especially Goddaughter Barbara Amsden and her husband John of Toronto. In her earlier years, Margie enjoyed a career at Sandvik Canada and also treasured her time spent in Arvida, Quebec. A devoted friend to many, she was an avid golfer, bird watcher, bridge player, animal lover, and was known for her great sense of humour. Thank you to her kind caregivers, Charlotte Knowles and Marilyn Spiruda. Friends may call on Sunday, May 24 from 2-4 p.m. at the James A. Harris Funeral Home, 220 St. James Street at Richmond, London. A funeral service will be conducted at Riverside United Church, 451 Dunedin Drive, London on Monday, May 25 at 1:30 p.m. Cremation with interment to follow in Mount Royal Cemetery, Montreal.
